Pictures
In
this section you will find pictures for designing your presentations. You
will see that some information is meant to add a humorous touch to somewhat
dry topics. My own pictures can be used without restrictions. Other pictures
are marked with source information and can be acquired there. For licence
reasons these pictures can only be offered in a low Web resolution format.

architectures have grown unmanaged over many years. Here is an example
of another architecture that grew unmanaged over thousands of years.
Eigene
Bilder / Own Pictures - Skagway, AlaskaHow
do I write a good SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) ? Here you can find
the shortest version how to cross a railroad.
How
does a data quality check using rules work ? Here is an example illustrating
this (texts added to picture #95369564 from Thinkstockphotos)
When
does it make sense to split an integrated solution ? Most probably not in this
case.
Data
mining - seeing things without knowing in advance what to look for.
Single
Sign On - as it worked in the ancient years.
Role
based environment - everything a pilot needs.
The
big solution sometimes does not solve the small problems.
Scaleable
tools - how they can grow with rising needs.
How
would your data look like if you could see their quality ? Hopefully not like
this room.
A
portal is an integration platform for different applications - exactly like
this tool.
The
off-the-shelf IT solution - standardized software fits many but not all.
Customer-specific
adaption - small changes can count for a lot.
If
organisational change management was as simple as that.
Use
regular checkpoints to avoid that quality deficits cause subsequent issues.
Tight
or loose coupling - how proprietary or open are your solutions ?
Simple
or complex interface - how weak or strong is your integration ?
Innovative
solutions can be surprising.
A KPI
is a snapshot - but what would it tell you in this case ?
The
added value of a system upgrade.
How
much governance do you need ? Set up some rules but do not be too restrictive.
Global
and local requirements for global templates
- the right mix determines success.
The
only constant is change - how sustainable is this change ?
Synergy
effect - the sum weighs more than the parts.
Maturity
of software - what tastes well and what does not ?
From
strategy to implementation - a plan is made fast.
Role
description of a project manager.
If
unclear user requirements meet inappropriate IT solutions.
Global
Template - right ingredients + rollout.
Risk
management - what works for how long ?
